K-Drama "Memorist" Review!

On my first post today, as you guys see in the title, I'll tell you about the drama that I've been watching for over two weeks, it's called Memorist. This drama just ended April 30,2020. I, personally, really like the action and thriller genre so this drama is really suited for you who wants to watch action and thriller drama. For this drama, they have 16 episodes with an estimation per episode of 60-ish minutes. So this drama tells about a detective who has supernatural power for scanning people's mind, called Dong Baek. He can watch people's memory only with a touch, that I wish I had the power :). Unfortunately, his influence can't be used without people's consent whose memory will be scanned. But the detective is a little bit naughty, so he did read people's mind without anyone's consent. That's why he often gets suspended at the police station.

It was a glimpse of his power, so let's talk about the story. The story here is about uncovering a murder that happened with the same pattern and killing a female victim. One day, the daughter of one of the staff at the detective office disappeared and the staff asked detective Dong Baek for help. There was also a "boss" who leads everything in the office, called Inspector Han Sun Mi. She also helped solve the puzzle of the missing daughter of their office staff.

Initially, Han Sun Mi was ordered to keep the information she had received from Dong Baek by Lee Shin Woong, the Deputy Head of their office. However, Dong Baek finally found out the truth that this was related to the kidnapping and murder case investigated previously. Dong Baek hunts down the culprit himself, assisted by the captain and his men, Captain Kyung Tan and Officer Se Hoon. This case turns out to hook the deputy head Lee Shin Woong with his actions 20 years ago during a riot and a fire in a warehouse that killed several students.

This murder case brings him back to Dong Baek's past, whose childhood memories were accidentally lost. After a long search, Dong Baek couldn't find the real culprit, after he thought he had found the real culprit by scanning people's memories related to the riot case and fire in the warehouse 20 years ago, the result ended in a dead-end. This opens one thing, everything that Dong Baek checks and scans memory, will lead to death. It is proven that people whose memories are scanned by Dong Baek to reveal the murder case, one by one died.

However, unexpectedly this killer turned out to also have supernatural powers to scan and erase memories! That's why everyone who Dong Baek examined did not leave any meaningful clues to reveal who the perpetrator of the cruel murder was. The killer also manipulated Dong Baek's mind with his dark past, as if the killer had known Dong Baek's real past!

After a long search assisted by Captain Kyung Tan, Officer Seo Hoon, and Inspector Han Sun Mi, the search finally found a bright spot. Even though it had to be passed with no less exciting and challenging sacrifices, Dong Baek was eventually confronted by the truth of the killer that related to the incident in the warehouse 20 years ago, which killed several students at that time!

In my opinion, the puzzle of this drama is quite complicated so those who want to watch, please pay attention, so you can understand and explore how exciting this drama is. Don't expect any romance scenes in this drama because there's nothing at all! This drama is pure for solving the case, so no love movement attached! For fans of the action thriller genre, watch it!
